Best wishes for Shagoo's speedy recovery, and a round of applause for the vets!

Coolwhip had the ultimate heavenly dog adventure, until the bath came. I had a husky who always disappeared at most inopportune moments - she knew exactly when to take off. I learned patience as never before.

There's so much in that post, "Busy Busy" is the perfect title. The Little's did a great job of raising the new mushers along with caring so well for their own kennel. Keno and Wolf are awesome - as is Wolf's story of recovery.

Your blog covers in detail the trials and joys of living with dogs this tough, this smart, and this dedicated to running. I discovered a long time ago that it's not for the faint of heart when I dabbled a bit myself into a neighbor's kennel. This knowledge makes it all the more amazing to me. Behind every good racing team, there are some very tired mushers with callused hands and big smiles.

Welcome to Keno & Wolf, they landed well.

Thank you! for answering my question! Wolf is beautiful- that black mask/blue eyes combination is in my mind the archtypal siberian husky look- which is what we have here in Maine. But there is something so appealing and "slipping through the trees like a spirit" to the grey on white color type. Of course, in the end we don't choose for looks, and often we don't choose- we get chosen. I love and applaud your philosophy and ethics. Good luck with training- and kudos to you for helping a youngster stay addicted!

I check back frequently for updates and having that picture of flying dogs pop up always makes me smile. Thanks for that! They are obviously having a blast! I keep trying to show the picture to my crew of sibe couch potatoes but it's been so hot that the only thing they want to chase are the waterbugs in the stream as they cool off. Forgive my ignorance but who is the beautiful grey on white dog pulling on two legs in the first picture? (S)he is obviously going full barrel!

I'm not sure who is who but the dog on my right in the first picture is smiling!
The expression in its eyes must be rewarding to you. That dog loves running.
It is obvious. Good luck as you go into training season. I'll be checking your
blog.

Please give us a heads up when you are getting ready for a race. If timing permits, I'd like to be able to come done and cheer for you and even lend a hand if needed.

Fantastic pictures - those tongues are just a flyin'! I knew it was a bad summer on the Peninsula, but guess I didn't realize how bad it was. I know exactly what you are talking about being from Southeast. I'm not going to brag about our summer this year, it was unusual but let's not talk about that. Let's talk about your amazing DOGS! Go team!

Living in central Illinois, it's hard to imagine bears in the region.... Loved our visit to Alaska in 2000. Enjoyed your bear and dog pictures, both.
