Yes! It’s finally time to get back to seriously running the dogs, and what a wonderful start we had this morning. Cole and I got up at 5 a.m. to try to squeeze in a few miles before work, while the temperatures were still cool. It was around 45 degrees when we woke up, so we moved quickly to get the dogs harnessed up and plugged in before the sun rose. We dropped down onto the beach where the air was crisp and the water was still as a large lake. The tide was falling and the only other tracks on the beach were from a black bear that must have come down during the night to forage on washed up salmon carcasses. We followed the bruins paw prints for about a mile before veering off the beach and into one of our woods trails. About this time the sun was starting to make an appearance and it was one of the beautiful mornings where the sky looks like cotton candy because there’s so much pink and blue color. The dogs finished strong and seemed ecstatic to have stretched their legs. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, them or us.
